This monkey

Last night, McKenzie was taking her bath and after some time playing decided she was ready to get out.

She has two towels, a monkey and a dog. Every night I ask her if she wants to be a monkey or a dog. Almost every night, she chooses the dog towel. Same is true last night, but when I took her out of the bath and wrapped her in her dog towel she says, "Mommy, warm this little monkey up."

I think my little monkey is a little confused.

Love me

Blake took McKenzie to see her school yesterday. She starts in a pre-kindergarten program Jan. 4 and we wanted her to see it and meet her teacher before her first day.

Well, she enjoyed it very much and quickly acclimated to her classmates and the room. When they were talking about it after, Blake told McKenzie that if she kept going potty on the toilet she would get to go swimming once a week with her class. She said, "yeah, there's a bunch of kids at school. ... And they're going to love me."

Be a honey ...

McKenzie has finally decided that she WANTS to use the toilet to go potty. Up until now, she could do it and did many times on her own, but just never wanted to. Well, the other night we turned the corner and she decided she wants to now.

I was so proud of her that when we were getting her bedtime snack pulled together I told she could have Nutella (which she LOVES) on her crackers. I explained that because she's been so good about going on the toilet, she was getting an extra special treat.

She then said to me, "Be a honey to get honey, mommy."

Gonna be a grown-up

So, we get in the car after dance last night. Out of the blue McKenzie says, "I'm going to be a grown-up next year." I said, "Oh really." She said, "Yep, I'm going to be a little grown-up."

She then went on a mini dissertation about how at dance there were a lot of little grown-ups and big grown-ups and that next year she was going to be a little grown-up.

What happened to my toddler? Yesterday she was two going on three, today, she's two going on little grown-up.
